SHILLONG: The police on Thursday detained BJP state general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty along with 27 other party members from Khyndai Lad area of the city for attempting to disrupt traffic during the NDA-backed Bharat Bandh.
Chakraborty and the others were taken to the Sadar police station and later released at around 3 pm.
In Ri-Bhoi, Umroi Mandal unit president Duruth Majaw was also detained.
