SHILLONG, Nov 24: Representatives from various line departments — National Social Service (NSS), Bharat Scouts & Guides, Indian Red Cross, Eco Clubs and others — have expressed enthusiasm to collaborate in the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) programme for the development of the youths.
This transpired during the State Advisory Committee Meeting of NYKS (SACYP) on Tuesday, which was held to chalk out the NYKS Core Programme Action Plan for the year 2020-2021 besides exploring possible areas for convergence of programmes in the field and also to provide suggestion for effective implementation of NYKS programme.
The meeting was chaired by Meghalaya Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Banteidor Lyngdoh, who is also the Chairperson of the state advisory committee on youth programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Lyngdoh said that the advisory committee meeting should be held regularly so as to review all activities and implementation of activities under NYKS core programme and ensure that these benefit the youths in Meghalaya.
Urging all line departments to collaborate with the NYKS in organising programmes targeted towards youth development, the minister hoped that the programme will enhance the skills and employability of youths.
Others who were present included Director, Sports & Youth Affairs, WAM Booth, State Director, NYKS, Inkhuanguang, representatives from Agriculture, Health & Family Welfare and Information and Public Relations departments.
