SHILLONG/NONGSTOIN, Dec 4: Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, on Friday, inaugurated the veterinary dispensary at Dongki-ingding, Mairang in West Khasi Hills, dedicated to the people of the area.
Constructed by the Animal Husbandry department, the dispensary will cater to needs of the healthcare of livestock in area.
Speaking on the occasion, Lyngdoh, who is also the legislator of Mairang, said that development can come only when people are united and have the attitude of understanding one another.
He exhorted the government functionaries to live up to the expectations of the people by providing adequate medical care to livestock and beseeched the public and staff of the Veterinary department to look after the dispensary for its longevity and benefits for the general public.
Water Resource Minister and MLA of Mawthadraishan, H Brolding Nongsiej, was also present on the occasion.
