Groups intensify stir, burn effigies of Modi, Shah

Nongpoh, Dec 5: Intensifying their agitations for implementation of ILP in the state, pressure groups comprising of the KSU, HNYF, Ri Bhoi Youth Federation and FKJGP today burnt effigies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Amit Shah as well of the NDA government.
Standing firm on their demands, leaders of the various pressure groups threatened to further their agitations in the coming days if the Central and the state government did not listen to their demands and sentiments of the people of Meghalaya for immediate implementation of ILP.
Beside implementation of ILP, the pressure groups also protested against the slow progress of the Entry and Exit Points and the long pending boundary dispute between Meghalaya and Assam as well as inclusion of Khasi language in the Eight Schedule.
