TURA, Dec 11: Police in West Garo Hills have recovered two country-made firearms used in the recent kidnapping of a fish seller from Tikrikilla following the arrests of two accused in the case.
Earlier, police had arrested the two accused, Maruti N Marak (20) and Bilbit N Sangma (28), for being involved in the crime.
Police informed that the weapons were recovered after the duo led the police team under Raksamgre SDPO and Tikrikilla OC to a place where they had hid the arms.
The weapons were recovered in the presence of local independent witnesses from the Jurimana Reserve Forest near Kongkerapara Village.
