TURA, Dec 18: An exhibition-cum-sale of products of women self-help groups (SHG) was on Friday organised by BAKDIL where various products such as bamboo stools, pickles, local ghee, pottery items, local fruit juice, vegetables, traditional cloths, et al were displayed and sold.
South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, HB Marak, who inaugurated the event, said that such an initiative will better the livelihood of women SHGs in the district. He also expressed gratitude to NABARD, who had supported the programme.
District Development Manager, NABARD, Kelchandra Chongtam, said the exhibition would give the women SHGs from a platform to develop direct linkages with customers.
