Awareness campaign on career counselling, HIV/AIDS held

 SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Youth Foundation, in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Network for Positive People (MSNP+) organised an Awareness campaign on ‘career counselling, substance misuse & stigma and discrimination on HIV/AIDS’ at the Holy Cross School, Mawkynrew, East Khasi Hills district recently.

The programme was sponsored by The Meghalaya Co-operative Apex Bank Ltd. Shillong.

Joannes JTL Lamare, chairman, MYF, highlighted the work and progress of the organisation during the programme.

He further stated that awareness is the need of the hour as it helps prevent the cause of many social evils.

During the technical session, Suzzette Kurbah spoke about drug abuse, substance misuse and effects of alcoholism.

A presentation was made on the basics of HIV/AIDS – stigma and discrimination and its preventive methods by Agui Daimai.

Lamare also delivered a presentation about the importance of career guidance and career counselling as it helps students choose their career wisely.
