SHILLONG, Jan 14: The founders of Meghalaya Upliftment Network — MEGUN, a city-based network involved in imparting coaching, has urged the statement government to consider reopening coaching centres which were abruptly closed in view of COVID-19.
In a statement issued here, the founder, Romen Dkhar, and co-founder, Elton Cliff Warjri, said the organisation has been involved in imparting coaching for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) since 2015. They said that with the government allowing schools to reopen with strict adherence to SOPs, similar directives, they hoped, would be issued for coaching centres, too. However, the government has not considered coaching centres while issuing SOPs, they said.
Maintaining that special attention should be given to students of class 12, they said not all types of teachings can happen online.
