NONGSTOIN, Jan 14: The West Khasi Hills District and Session Court on Thursday convicted one Kraneth Thabah of Laitnamlang village and awarded him life imprisonment for raping his minor daughter.
The accused was found guilty of committing an offence under section 5 (1) (m) (n) of POCSO Act, 2012, and levied a fine of Rs 30,000. The fine amount will be paid to the victim.
It may be mentioned that in August, 2018, Thabah had raped his daughter at his house in Laitnamlang village. The case on the matter was registered with Nongstoin Police Station.
