NSACS to launch awareness by Rock+

Kohima: The Multi-Media awareness campaign of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) is all set roll through the Rock+, a local rock beat competition in the district headquarters with a theme ‘Let’s Beat It’ from October 9.

Addressing a press conference here this morning, the project director of Music Task Force under the Nagaland Department of Youth Resources and Sports Gugs Chishi said the Multi-Media campaign (MMC) has been taken up by NSACS to create awareness among the people through music, sports, festivals, cultural events and celebrations by erecting banners, posters, distributing leaflets, singing songs in local dialects so that sensitization can be created among the people on HIV/AIDS.

This is the fourth Phase of the campaign, beginning at Mon on Tuesday.

The winner of Naga Orpheus, 2011 Kokliba Jing will be the brand ambassador for the fourth phase of MMC sponsored Rock+.

The Rock+ will begin at Mon on October 09, followed by October 11 at Longleng on, Oct. 12 at Mokokchung, Oct. 17 at Tuensang, Oct. 19 at Kiphire, Oct 22 at Phek, Oct. 24 at Zunheboto, Oct. 26 at Wokha, Oct. 27 at Dimapur, Oct. 29 at Peren, Oct. 31 at Kohima and the Grand Finale will be held on November 3 at Dimapur District Sports Complex in Dimapur town.

Mr Chishi said besides the Rock bands the supporting organizations of NSACS will appoint speakers to deliver lectures on the awareness of HIV/AIDS in the local dialects.

Joint Director of NSACS Dr Lima who was also present at the press conference, informed that besides the Rock Beat, there will also be songs and other items in the local dialects with an aim to create awareness. (UNI)
