Statehood Day
The celebration of 49th Statehood Day will be held on January 21 from 12 noon at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong. According to a statement, Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, will attend the programme as the chief guest while Power Minister, James PK Sangma, will attend the programme as the guest of honour.
Closure
The Deputy Secretary to the Governor has informed that the Raj Bhavan, Shillong, will be closed for the general public on January 25 and 26.
PDS quota
Rice under NFSA (AAY and PHH) and non-NFSA for January and wholemeal atta for have been released through the respective fair price shops in East Khasi Hills. Informing this, the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has said that the scale of issue of rice has been fixed at 35 kg per card at Rs 3 per kg for AAY quota, 5 kg per head at Rs 3 per kg for PHH and 7.215 kg per household at Rs12.70 to Rs 13 per kg for non-NFSA. “Wholemeal atta will be distributed at the scale of 5 kg per card in urban areas and 3 kg per card in rural areas at Rs 10.50 per kg,” a statement said on Monday.
