Border residents avail of BSF’s health camp

TURA, Jan 24: Making efforts to maintain cordial relationship with the border population and create a sense of security amongst them, 55 Battalion BSF, under the aegis of Sector BSF Headquarter Tura, organised a medical camp in a remote border area at Dabram village in South Garo Hills district.
The medical camp was conducted with close and active cooperation from the district administration and officials of the Baghmara Civil Hospital.
It was inaugurated by SK Sharma, DIG, SHQ BSF Tura, and ADC, South Garo Hills, TM Sangma, in the presence of Superintendent of Police, Priyansu Pandey.
During the programme, border residents belonging to several villages – Dabram, Netri, Johnkol and Arapara – participated and got themselves checked up and treated under supervision of BSF medical team headed by Dr SK Verma, CMO(SG) of SHQ BSF Tura, Dr Arpita Sharma, CMO of 55 Battalion BSF and Dr Kamal Gupta, CMO of 75 Battalion BSF.
During the health camp, a total of 410 villagers were provided medical counselling and treatment. As part of the COVID-19 awareness programme, hand sanitisers and masks were also distributed to the participants.
Moreover, a complete solar panel setup with battery backup to illuminate the community centre at Dabram was also handed over to the village Nokma.
