SHILLLONG, Jan 28: The Meghalaya government has decided to issue an on-and-off license to Airport Authority of India (AAI) for having a wine shop inside the Umroi Airport. This decision was approved by the state Cabinet on Thursday.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that since the Umroi Airport is operational in full swing, the Cabinet has approved the proposal for amendment to the relevant rules to allow the AAI to have an on-and-off license for having a wine shop inside the airport.
Meanwhile, in order to meet the supply shortage of GI pipes in Meghalaya for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, its procurement from other manufacturing units in addition to the earlier notified supplier has also been approved by the Cabinet.
