58th ‘Wild Life Week’ observed in Chokpot

 TURA: Aiming at bringing about more awareness about the importance of wildlife and the need to protect it, the Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Chokpot Regional Unit recently organised a celebration of the 58th Wild Life Week at the Chokpot Higher Secondary School.

Chief Guest at the programme, Sub-Inspector of Chokpot Police Station, while speaking on the occasion explained to the gathering the importance and values of preserving the wild life of the region and its contribution to the whole eco-system.

He also urged the gathering to work in any way they can to protect the wild life and to make attempts to contribute towards saving the environment.

Many students of various schools of Chokpot area along with the staff and faculty participated in the celebration.

The organisers also held various competitions like quiz competition, essay competition, drawing competition, drama and singing competitions for the students, drawing huge response from the participants.
