Huge cache of explosives seized in EJH village

Shillong, Feb 4: In a joint operation with the police in East Jaintia Hills, security forces tracked two smugglers and recovered huge cache of explosive items from a car near Mallidor village in East Jaintia Hills district, close to the Meghalaya-Assam boundary on Thursday.
“The police seized 542 gelatine explosives, 600 electronic detonators and currency worth Rs 11,260 on NH-37 near Gumrah toll barrier, Mallidor village, Assam- Meghalaya border,” a defence official said.
“The two apprehended individuals and the seized with explosive items were handed over to Gumrah Police Station for further investigations,” the official added. (UNI)
