B’deshi detected
Coy Commander of B-Coy, 28 Battalion, BSF, BOP Rithingpara, detected a suspected Bangladeshi, Md Akram Hussain (36), along with a bolt cutter, mobile with two SIM cards in his possession, at Mahendraganj PS in South West Garo Hills. He was apprehended by BSF personnel from areas under Rithingpara BOP.

Motorbikes missing
Silbath A Sangma lodged a complaint (February 7) that his motorcycle (ML-14-6290) was found missing from Salmanpara in South West Garo Hills.
Debashish Barua lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of February 4 and 5, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05S-9757), which was parked inside his residential compound at Upper Keating Road, Shillong.

Cattle smuggler apprehended
Coy Commander 43 Battalion, BSF South Garo Hills lodged a complaint that BSF personnel on duty apprehended one suspected cattle smuggler, Selverious D Sangma, along with three heads of cattle and Rs 98,500 in cash. He was later handed over to Police at Baghmara.

Break-in
On February 8, Batskhem Suting, proprietor of New Hope Restaurant, Barik, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of February 7 and 8, miscreant(s) broke into a restaurant and stole materials valued around Rs 18,000.
On February 7 evening, miscreant(s) broke into the residence of Sodinen Jamir at Rynjah, Shillong, and stole one gold ornaments, etc.

Cross-border smuggling bid
D Samuel, Party Commander, G-Coy 123 Bn., BSF, lodged a complaint that on February 6, around 7.30 pm, BSF personnel noticed suspicious movement of four miscreants along with cattle near BP No. 1239/7-S, BOP Omkhawa in East Khasi Hills, moving towards Indo-Bangladesh border with intention to smuggle the cattle to Bangladesh. On being challenged by BSF personnel, the miscreants fled away and escaped towards Indian side. Later, BSF personnel recovered three heads of cattle worth Rs 33,000 from the PO.
