TURA, Feb 13: South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner has directed the border residents in the district to carry their EPICs while moving along border roads to ensure that effective patrolling by the BSF along the Indo-Bangladesh border takes place.
The directive from the DC comes after he took cognizance of the frequent movement of Indian nationals on the border road.
The Commandant of 28 Bn BSF, in his letter to the DC, had earlier informed that under the area of 28 Bn BSF, which starts from BOP Boldamgre to BOP Ritingpara, there are six stretches where border road runs along the border security fence. These roads are commuted by Indian nationals for movement from one side to another.  As a result, BSF personnel at border security fence gates have been recording details of persons moving through these gates.
The directive has been issued so that the locals do not face any inconvenience and so that their entries can be recorded at fence gates for effective security.
