248 recruits pass out of 58 GTC

SHILLONG, Feb 13: Two hundred forty-eight recruits were on Saturday inducted in the Indian Army during a passing-out parade at 58 Gorkha Training Centre (GTC) at Happy Valley, Shillong.
According to a statement, the newly inducted soldiers will be dispatched to the numerous locations of the Indian Army.
“A total of 248 recruits took the ‘Oath of Affirmation’ at the ceremony,” the statement said.
Reviewing the parade, Brigadier M Narendranath Sajan, commandant, 58 GTC, beseeched the soldiers to strive and be the finest of Indian Army. He also congratulated them for the feat they have achieved.
During the attestation parade, Brigadier Sajan also accentuated the importance of valour, honour, ethos and fine traditions of the Indian Army.
He also complemented the staff for conducting the training with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols as well as using innovative methods.
During the passing-out parade, recruit Abhishek Sakia was conferred with the Overall Best Recruit & Recruit of 8 GR award while recruit Manish Ale Magar was awarded Best Recruit of 5 GR (FF).
