SHILLONG, Feb 21: In another bid to give entrepreneurship a boost in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Sunday informed that the state government has rolled out a programme that will benefit the ones aspiring to become successful entrepreneurs.
Taking to Twitter, the chief minister said, “Happy to announce that Meghalaya is rolling out the ‘Chief Minister’s E-Champion Challenge 2.0’ after a successful 1st phase. If you are an entrepreneur who wants to expand your horizons, apply now for an intensive Start-up Incubation Programme”.
According to the tweet, selected entrepreneurs will be awarded cash prize worth Rs 50,000 or one lakh and will secure free co-working space seats at prime hubs in Shillong or Tura. During the programme, the entrepreneurs will be mentored one-on-one by industry experts, among others.
According to the chief minister, more details pertaining to the programme have been made available at www.primemeghalaya.com.
The last date for receipt of applications is March 31.
It may be mentioned that the chief minister had on Friday announced that a corpus fund of Rs 125 crore will be constituted over the next two years as the PRIME Fund in a bid to promote the entrepreneurs of the state.
Conrad is also of the opinion that through the initiatives of the state government, the entrepreneurship culture can spread its wings to different sectors and encourage the talented and enterprising people of Meghalaya.
“I am happy to witness our artisans and entrepreneurs getting the opportunities and the much-needed handholding through the Ateliers Programme and the PRIME Meghalaya initiative,” the chief minister had said.
