Condolence
The teaching and non-teaching staff of Laban Bengalee Girls’ Higher Secondary School have condoled the demise of retired IAS officer, Pritish Ch Chakraborty, and Ardhendu Bikash Roy during a gathering at the school premises on Wednesday, a statement issued here said. The principal and vice-principal of recalled the contributions of Chakraborty and Roy towards the development of the school. A two-minute silence was also observed.
Training
The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority will organise a single-day training programme on ‘Departmental Disaster Management Plan’ at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium, Main Secretariat, Shillong, at 11:30 am on Thursday. Commissioner and Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management department, R Lyngdoh, will attend the programme as the chief guest. As many as 60 participants from different departments will partake in the training.
FASTag
The Project Director of National Highways Authority of India, Meghalaya, while informing that the National Electronic Toll Collection (FASTag) programme has been implemented on pan-India basis, said that FASTag can be obtained from all toll plazas, District Transport Offices, NHAI office at Shillong and Guwahati, customer service center, Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Paytm, and through bank branches, mobile banking app, My FASTag App, Sukad yatra mobile app et al. Public have also been asked to avoid ordering FASTag from fraudsters, and utilise the NHAI helpline 1033.
Dak Adalat
Circle-level ‘Dak Adalat’ will be held in the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong, at 11 am on March 5. Complaints may be sent through ordinary post or speed post with the subject ‘Dak Adalat’ superscribed on the cover and addressed to the Chief Postmaster General, North East Circle, Shillong-793001. The complaints should contain details such as complete address and registration receipt number, etc. In case of savings schemes and postal life insurances related complaints, account number, policy number and full address of the depositor or insurer should be given. The posts should reach the chief postmaster general’s office on or before March 1.
Nomination
The Old Boys Association, Sainik School, Goalpara, has nominated Colonel (Retd) GK Rai as the president of the Association for the term 2021-2023.
