SHILLONG, March 2: The NEHUTA and MeTTA on Tuesday alleged anomalies in the recruitment process for various faculty positions while seeking appropriate intervention into the issue from the concerned authorities under the central government.
In a statement, the NEHUTA and MeTTA expressed discontent with Vice Chancellor Prof SK Srivastava’s “attempts to conduct recruitment for various faculty positions” on the basis of an old advertisement.
“An advertisement for faculty position in which last date for applying was sometime in October, 2019, has now being processed in violation of Govt. of India rule. Govt. of India rule states that for any job advertisement, the process of recruitment be preferably concluded by next six months. If that is not done, then fresh advertisement is a must,” the NEHUTA and MeTTA said, adding “it is utterly unlawful to see that the VC Prof SK Srivastava is openly challenging the directive of Govt. of India on his own”.
