SHILLONG, March 6: Nongkseh picked up a massive 103-run victory against Sporting CC in a Shillong Cricket League 1st Division match here on Saturday. Batting first, Nongkseh ammased a respectable 213/7 in 30 overs. They were helped by batsmen Bamanbha Shangpliang who played a solid innings, scoring 82 runs off 67 balls. Bamanbha was aided by teammate Iajiedlang Lyngdoh who contributed 35 runs off just 20 balls. For Sporting CC, Rohit Kumar was the pick of the bowlers, scalping 2 wickets for 25 runs in his alloted 6 overs while Jiten Rabha also picked up 2 wickets, giving away 34 runs in 6 overs. Chasing 214 runs for a win, Sporting CCs batsmen never looked comfortable at the crease and were bowled out for 110 in only 20.2 overs.Sporting’s Ajay Ram was the top-scorer, making 39 runs off 17 balls while Santosh Thakur’s 13 off 33 balls was the second highest score in the batting lineup. Synrap Riahtam picked up 3 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs while Wansuk Shullai finished off the match, also picking 3 wickets for 16 runs in 3.2 overs. Bamanbha Shangpliang was adjudged the Man of the Match for his contribution with the bat.
