Fast track court clarifies

 SHILLONG: Reacting to media reports on the role of the fast track court in a sexual abuse case against a minor allegedly by one Small Phawa in Jowai last year, the court clarified that the charges against the rape accused has been framed in the case posted for hearing.

Informing this here on Saturday, Maidong Laloo of the Jowai fast track court informed that the allegation that justice was being denied to the rape victim was incorrect and that charges have been framed against the accused.

Recently, the grandfather of the victim had claimed that during the last hearing of the court, the judge had advised the family members to enter into a compromise with the accused Phawa who had allegedly raped the minor at Riat Siatsim, Jowai. The fast track court termed the reports as baseless.
