CAPE TOWN: Kolkata Knight Riders produced a clinical performance in their concluding group league match as they thrashed Titans by 99 runs in the CLT20 here on Sunday.

Put into bat, KKR scored an imposing 188 for five and then shot Titans out for a paltry 89 in 16.4 overs.

The match was an inconsequential one for the IPL champions and their batsmen threw caution to the wind with an exhibition of some fine big hitting by the likes of Gautam Gambhir and Brendon McCullum.

For the Titans three batsmen fell with the score on 51. KKR’s Lakshmipathy Balaji picked up a total of four scalps. (PTI)

Brief scores:

KKR: 188-5, 20 overs (G Gambhir 44; R van der Merwe 2-18)

Titans: 89 all out, 16.4 overs (J Rudolph 25; L Balaji 4-19)
