Shillong, March 19: Rangkynsai outplayed Sputnik Spartan to beat them with 7 wickets in a Shillong Cricket League Super Division match at the NEPA ground here on Friday. Put into bat first, Spartan managed to score 188 all out in 34.5 overs. Uttam Chanda continued to be his team’s top scorer, making 46 runs of 53 balls, while Ashit Baruah (45 runs of 36 balls) was the next top scorer. For Rangkynsai Sanbor Lyngdoh and Sanjay Lyngdoh were the pick of the bowlers, returning with figures of 3/31 and 2/41 respectively. Rangkynsai chased down the modest target set by Spartans with over 9 overs to spare, scoring 192/3 in 25.4 overs. Ajay Duhan of Rangkynsai scored a blistering ton (129 runs off 84 balls) and was ably supported by Nick Dann (26 runs off 23 balls). For Spartan, Uttam shone with the ball as well, claiming 1 wicket while giving away 49 runs in his 7 overs. Ajay was adjudged the Man of the Match for his brilliant innings.
