SHILLONG, March 24: The South West Khasi Hills unit of Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), on Wednesday, voiced concern over the alleged assault of three youths from Wahkaji at Golf Links on Sunday evening and demanded action against the assailants.
In a statement issued here, the KSU claimed that the three youths were struck by beer bottles at the venue by around 20 unidentified miscreants.
The Union, while terming the incident as unfortunate, expressed surprise that the police are yet to make any arrest in connection with the case.
The KSU demands immediate arrest of the people who are responsible in the attack on the youths, the KSU said. “We also demand that the government should provide compensation and even pay for the expenses of their treatment. The government should also make an arrangement for treating them in the best hospitals,” it said.
Two of the youths are in critical condition and have been shifted from Super Care Hospital to NEIGRIHMS on Wednesday evening, while one of them is out of danger, the statement informed.
