SHILLONG: The Shillong Autumn Festival began with the Half Marathon and Cycling Race for the youths on Saturday from Madan Iewrynghep (Fire Brigade) at 7 am highlighting the need to protect the environment.
The annual event of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum and the State Government is aimed at promoting Eco Tourism and sustainable environment in the State.
Besides the performance of musical bands and choirs, the concluding events of the Autumn Festival will be held at Orchid Lake Resort, Umiam on November 3 and 4.
