TURA, March 28: The Garoland State Movement Committee (GSMC), on Sunday, condoled the demise of one of its leaders — Simseng Ch Marak, assistant general secretary of the GSMC.
“Marak was a dedicated worker and worked tirelessly to achieve the Garoland State demand. His sudden demise is a great loss to the GSMC, the Garos and especially his family members,” co-chairman of the committee, Balkarin Ch Marak said.
According to Balkarin, Marak was among those members who were put in prison for two months in Jowai in 2013 over the demand for a Garoland State.
