SHILLONG, April 10: Amid the upsurge in COVID-19 cases across the country, the state government has made it mandatory for people entering Meghalaya from outside the North East to furnish a negative RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TruNat report.
However, the day trippers from Northeastern states will, on the other hand, have to produce a negative RAT certificate.
According to Principal Secretary, Health department, Sampath Kumar, lest the entrant fails to produce the aforesaid report, he/she will have to undergo test on payment basis.
Anyone showing symptoms on arrival at the entry point will have to mandatorily undergo the RT-PCR test.
Kumar added that that online registration through meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm has also been made compulsory for those who wish to enter the state.
He also urged the people to download the Arogya Setu App and the Behavioural Change Management App of Meghalaya.
