Six illegal immigrants held

SHILLONG: The BSF on Friday apprehended six illegal immigrants from Bangladesh at 8:15am from South Garo Hills district while they were infiltrating from Bangladesh to India. The apprehended people have been identified as Laitom Hajong (23), Sukumar Barman (25), Asim Hajong (22), Prantosh Marak (22), Nakan Sangam (27) and Wing Sangma (52). During preliminary questioning, the apprehended illegal immigrants revealed that they were going to the Coal mines near Nongalbibra in South Garo Hills.

The apprehended people have been handed over to the concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
