TURA, April 21: President of the Mindikgre regional unit of the GSU, Greneth M Sangma has written to the Controller of Examinations, NEHU in Shillong, requesting that the 1st, 3rd and 5th semester students of the 2015 batch from Captain Williamson Memorial Government College in Baghmara, who missed out on their examinations be allowed to reappear for their exams.

In his letter of appeal to the official, Greneth said that due to the bandh called by the NESO in the entire North East at the time, the examinations scheduled for October 2018 was postponed. Following the postponement, a notification for the examination was issued by NEHU in December 2018 which however was missed by the students due to communication problems on account of poor networking. According to Greneth, another reason due to which the students could not appear in the examination is the all India Covid-19 lockdown called by the Prime Minister for 21 days and its extension.

Greneth claimed that while other colleges have already re-conducted the examinations for the 2015-16 batch students who have since graduated, no such notification or information was given to the students of the Captain Williamson Memorial Government College in Baghmara.

Pointing out that the graduation of the affected students was being delayed due to the issue, Greneth requested the official to immediately issue a fresh notification for the re-conduct of the said examinations.
