SHILLONG, April 21: MLP booked their place in the final of the Shillong Cricket Association 1st Division tournament after registering a convincing 92 run victory over Sunrise CC here on Wednesday.
MLP won the toss and elected to bat first, before being bowled out for 176 in 33.1 overs. Man of the Match Kumar Sewa top scored with 70 coming off 52 balls. Ranjeet Rai contributed 31. For Sunrise, Akash Sharma took a five-for returning figures of 5/22 in 7 overs.
However, Sunrise CC were unable to create any partnerships and were eventually bowled out for a paltry 84 in 22.4 overs.
Usko Momin (35) tried to hold the innings together but aside from Sanjeev Chettri (13), none of the other batsmen were able to make contributions.
Prakash Uniyal (3/10) and Wallambok Nongkhlaw (3/23) both picked up three wickets each.
