Postponement
The inaugural programme of the new liquid nitrogen plant in the Central Semen Bank, Intensive Cattle Development Project, Upper Shillong, which was scheduled for April 28, has been postponed.
Prohibition
The Ri Bhoi District Magistrate has banned sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to people below 18 years and in areas falling within a radius of 100 yards of educational institutes, a statement informed. “Vendors, stalls and other shopkeepers shall display a notice with the warning ‘sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products to minors below the age of 18 years is prohibited and is a punishable offence’,” the statement said, adding that smoking in public places has also been prohibited.
