Convincing wins for St Edmund’s and St Anthony’s

SHILLONG: St Edmund’s College defeated Tirot Sing College, Nongstoin, by a massive margin of 132 runs, while St Anthony’s College outplayed Synod College by eight wickets in the Inter College Cricket Tournament.

In the first match, St Edmund’s College won the toss and elected to bat. A 104-run partnership between Ujjal Sing (51 off 52) and Dipankar Dutta (45 off 37) helped the team put up a massive score of 164-5 in 23 overs. Banteiborlang took 2-30. In reply, Tirot Sing College were rolled over for 32 in 14.3 overs. Eric Kevin Dkhar took four wickets for the winners.

In the second match, St Anthony’s College won the toss and elected to field. Synod College had a torrid time of it and finished on 95-9 in 25 overs. Rohit Chetri took 5-21 in five overs.

In reply, St Anthony’s College reached the target in 17.2 overs, losing two wickets. Suresh Sunar scored 43 runs off 43 balls.
