DC announces curbs on movement in Tura

TURA/MAWKYRWAT, April 30: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh on Friday imposed restrictions on the movement of people to and from Tura town. As per the directive, citizens will have to avail an e-pass from http://westgarohills.gov.in or http://westgarohills.gov.in/covid-19html for interdistrict or interstate movement. Movement of persons in private vehicles in the areas of Tura and Rongram, in case of emergency, will be permitted on self-declaration and subject to compliance of COVID-19 protocols. However, furnishing of false self-declaration will entail penal action. While the movement for passenger vehicles has been restricted, no curbs have been issued on  movement of vehicles carrying goods. Helpline The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has launched a telemedicine helpline for people encountering symptoms of COVID-19. The Morcha has appealed to one and all to contact the helpline number, 080-68173286, in case they are encountering the symptoms of COVID. Containment order in SWKH Meanwhile, in South West Khasi Hills, deputy commissioner, C Kharkongor, has declared Borsora village and Dhar Company area in 25th Mile under Ranikor Civil Sub-Division as containment areas. According to a statement, the decision was taken “after the detection of positive cases/high-risk contacts”.
