SHILLONG: The officers and staff of the State Sports Council Meghalaya (SSCM) have expressed their opposition against the proposed appointment of G Kharmawphlang for the post of engineer in the SSCM.
They submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Sports and Youth Affairs, Bindo M Lanong.
According to SSCM officers, the council has its own qualified and competent engineers who have served for several years and are specialized in the construction of sports infrastructure. The SSCM officers stated that filling up of a top post by an officer from another department is against the clause no 8 (b) of the article of the Association.
