SHILLONG, May 3: BJP MDC in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) from Berengapara constituency, Pramod U Koch, has sought two months’ time to call on national party president, JP Nadda, and seek his advice on whether the party should continue to support the NPP-led Executive Committee (EC) in the Council.
Replying to the show-cause notice issued by state BJP president Ernest Mawrie on Monday, Koch recalled that Meghalaya BJP in-charge, Chuba Ao, along with BJP cabinet minister, AL Hek, had stated during a recent programme in the presence of his colleague Bernard Marak, who is also the new Tura MDC, that BJP is part of the MDA coalition in Meghalaya and it would be better to support the EC in GHADC.
“Both of us accordingly voted in favour of the MDA CEM nominee. Since there is no written directive from any authority, it has left us in a state of utter confusion,” Koch added.
