TURA, May 6: The opposition bench in the GHADC, comprising eleven Congress MDCs, has urged the Council CEM, Benedic R Marak, to clear the dues of the agitating employees and bring an end to the deadlock.
In a joint letter to the CEM, the opposition MDCs said, “We request you to find alternative ways and means to clear the long-pending dues of the employees as soon as possible. It is not only the employees of GHADC office who are suffering but due to the Council administration office remaining defunct, business houses, citizens and Garo Hills, as a whole, is bearing the brunt.”
BJP voters getting targeted: Bernard
Tura BJP MDC, Bernard Marak, has written to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, alleging that BJP voters in Tura, particularly those employed in the GHADC who endorsed his candidature, are being  targeted with a “dictatorial order” directing them to return to work.
“It is a known fact that most of the GHADC employees voted for BJP and you yourself acknowledged that your candidate in Tura prestigious seat got defeated due to various issues on which one was majority of the GHADC employees resided in Tura. The targeting of the employees, just because they voted for BJP, is not a fair reason to force upon them a dictatorial order,” said Bernard in his letter to Conrad.
He also denied having any hand in targeting the current GHADC secretary, Rikse R Marak, calling the accusations “ridiculous”.
The Tura MDC added that he had tried contacting the CEM in this regard but to no avail.
