Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has said that planning for any developmental initiative should begin from the village level and work for the welfare of the poor rural people is the duty of the state government.

Adequate emphasis on the importance of agriculture and horticulture was the only solution to the burgeoning unemployment problem, Tuki told a public meeting at Seppa in West Kameng district on Sunday.

He urged the people to introduce multi-crop system and commercial farming for which the state government would extend monetary support wherever possible.

Describing surface communication as one of the priority areas of his government, he said that all the villages would be connected by PMGSY road.

Responding to a public memorandum, the chief minister announced Rs 5 crore for Sports stadium at Seppa, Rs 2 crore for multi-purpose cultural hall, Rs 10 crore for Mini Secretariat building at Seppa.

Earlier on the day, the chief minister inaugurated Tari suspension bridge over Kameng river connecting Bazarline with New Seppa and also inaugurated the (2×1500 KW) Pacha small hydel project. (PTI)
