A one-day Regional Workshop on Awareness on the Central health schemes like JSSK/JSY, Immunization, Malaria & HIV was organized by the Department of Field Publicity, Government of India, Shillong here on Monday. Speaking at the inaugural function, Health & Family Welfare secretary KW Marbaniang said that such programmes organised by DFP will help to reach out to the people in educating them about awareness of health programmes for their welfare through their complete participation.

He said that the Tenth Plan has identified planning to be envisaged from the village level in evolving various rural development programmes especially the health systems while adding that the need of the hour is to expand the health infrastructure through the implementation of the various health programmes.
