The SBI has issued a statement asking account holders to refrain from handing over account details including passbook and ATM card to anyone.

Information has been received that certain unscrupulous people have been able to obtain account details, pass book and ATM card from genuine customers of the bank.

Keeping this in mind, the SBI has issued a statement stating that handing over account details and allowing it to be used by third parties carries high risk as the account can be misused for money laundering, perpetration of frauds, scams and other activities.
