Itanagar: Alleging that what prevails in the state capital is total anarchy, the Arunachal Pradesh BJP has demanded the state government to either tackle the prevailing law and order situations or quit.
Expressing serious concern over the law and order situation in the state capital for the last couple days forcing the business community and traders to shut their shops and business establishments, the Opposition party said the ruling Congress government in the state has left the security of people at the mercy of anti-social elements and miscreants.
‘The state government’s primary duty is to ensure the law and order in the state and protect the life and property of the people. The indifferent attitude shown by the ruling Congress government in the state to tackle the situation is very unfortunate and unbecoming,’ the party said in a release here today.
‘The unprecedented shut down has not only incurred heavy losses to the traders and shopkeepers but also harassed the general public,’ the release said and demanded an explanation from the chief minister that as to why the state capital should be allowed to hold ransom for several days without any security measures?
Meanwhile, the proposed visit of BJP national president Nitin Gadkari to state Capital has been postponed for his pre-occupation, the party informed, adding the fresh date of his visit will be announced later. (UNI)
