SHILLONG, June 15: The Summer Session of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) is expected to be held from June 25 but the final call will be taken depending on the Covid-19 situation in the city.
“We will have to see if the state government extends the lockdown after June 21. We need to seek permission from the Deputy Commissioner in case there is an extension,” KHADC CEM Titosstarwell Chyne said on Tuesday.
Chyne said that an important bill will be tabled during the session and asserted that the session will be conducted with strict observance of the SOPs issued by the Health Department.
Asked if the Select Committee had examined the Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Regulation and Administration of Land) Bill, 2021, Chyne said there was no meeting due to the Covid-19 situation.
During the last Budget Session in February, the Council had referred the Land Bill to the Select Committee which was supposed to complete the task of giving a final shape to the bill within ten days.
