Extortion

Police arrested two persons, James R Marak (33) and Heniush G Momin (28) in connection with an extortion case under Tura PS.

On November 24, police arrested two persons, Aket N Marak (19) and George D Shira (26) from Nonghyllam South West Khasi Hills in connection with an extortion case.

On November 20, residents of Nongjri village, South West Khasi Hills apprehended and assaulted one Sai Mylliem (20) while he was extorting money from the public. During the scuffle, the accused fired from his country-made SBBL gun but the gun misfired. He was handed over to Nonghyllam Anti-Dacoity Camp and later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. The arm was seized.

Theft

On November 23 at around 3 pm, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09A-5118) belonging to one PK Sangma from Nengrugittim, South Garo Hills.

On November 23, one Allauddin Ali snatched a chain from one Shanti Chettri at Khyndai Lad.

Immigrant held

On November 24, police from Siju check post arrested a 15-year-old Bangladeshi boy from a Tata Sumo (ML-04-1761) at Siju, South Garo Hills. He was handed over to Baghmara PS.

Assault

On November 24 at around 6 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted one Morning Nongspung (60) at Pommura, East Khasi Hills. He sustained injuries and was admitted at Shillong Civil Hospital.
