Tara Prasad Upadhay, NSS volunteer of Shillong College, has been conferred with the Indira Gandhi National NSS volunteer Award 2012, by President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on November 19. Upadhay is one of the two NSS volunteers from the Northeastern states selected for the award.

Wansaka Sawkmie, daughter of Stevenson Syiem and Bluebell Sawkmie, a resident of Mawkhar Main Road has been awarded first position along with a Gold Medal in the MSc Home Science Extension and Communication Management from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Technology and Sciences, Allahabad.
