JHADC MDC quits Cong to contest Assembly polls

JOWAI: Stephanson Mukhim, a Congress member in the JHADC, on Wednesday resigned from the party to contest the upcoming Assembly elections from Amlarem.

Mukhim, who represents 3-War-West District Council Constituency, submitted his resignation letter to the Jaintia Hills District Congress Committee (JHDCC).

With Mukhim deciding to contest the 2013 Assembly elections, Amalarem is all set to witness a multi-corned contest.

The sitting Congress MLA Lahkmen Rymbui, former UDP MLA, RL Tariang and Dunno Nongpluh, who is also a JHADC member, are already in the fray
