Teacher recruitment scam of 2009

By Our Reporter

SHILLONG: The CSWO has expressed disappointment over the manner in which State Police is investigating into the manipulation of score sheets of the candidates who had applied for the post of the Assistant teachers in 2009.

In a statement issued here on Friday, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said, “It is very strange that the Police are still investigating the case filed by a candidate in 2011 and have not been able to solve the case yet.”

According to Kharshiing, this is intentional as the case involves high ranking officials and politicians.

“The case was kept in cold storage and since there was pressure to register the latest FIR, police have dug out the old case that was practically closed,” the statement added.

The organization also alleged that the sections were intentionally put in such a way in order to ‘save’ the main conspirators. Section 468 which implies forgery for the purpose of cheating, was intentionally left out, the CSWO claimed.

“It is unfortunate that that we have such people protecting us who do not dare take action in cases involving when politicians and bureaucrats,” she added.
