SHILLONG: The North Eastern Service of All India Radio, Shillong in collaboration with Doordarshan, Shillong on Tuesday organized a choral ‘Goodwill Concert’ at Aurobindo Hall heralding the festive season of Christmas.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Director General of All India Radio and Doordarshan of North Eastern Region, C Lalrosanga, said the message of Christmas embedded with joy, peace and good-will should spread to other parts of the country and not remain confined only to the Northeastern region.
Lalrosanga said that All India Radio has organized various programme not only for promotion of music, but for spreading the message of good will amongst the various communities in the region.
Chief Secretary WMS Pariat said Meghalaya is fortunate to hold the programme with joy and peace and expressed concern over the lack of peace in other parts of the region. He lauded AIR for the services rendered to the society.
The programme was aired live by AIR and telecast throughout the Northeastern region by the DDKs.
