Teachers remind edn minister about demands

TURA, July 14: The 4th teachers from Garo Hills, under the umbrella of the All Meghalaya 4th Teachers’ Association, Garo Hills unit, have submitted a reminder to their earlier memorandum to Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, asking him to look into their demands for a raise in their salary and regularisation of their service.
“Our qualifications and workloads are the same. Therefore, paying us less is a discrimination,” the teachers said.
The teachers claimed that during their earlier meeting with Rymbui in Shillong, the latter had assured that the matter would be looked into. However, nothing has materialized till date, they rued.
The fresh reminder submitted on Wednesday urged the Education Minister to urgently take the matter up with the Cabinet.
