All India trek flagged-off

SHILLONG: The All India Trek 2012 organized by Shillong Group NCC on behalf of NER Directorate was flagged-off by Additional Director General of North Eastern Region, NCC, Major General RK Sharma on Monday at the Assam Rifles Public School, Laitkor.

The trek which will conclude on December 17 is aimed at better interaction among children from different parts of the country. The accommodation and allied infrastructure for the event is being provided by the DGAR at Assam Rifles Public School.

The trek will be attended by 500 cadets and associated NCC officers from all States of India and it is being organised on five different routes with base camp to be located at ARPS.

These routes will culminate at Smit village, Sweet Falls, Elephants Falls, Don Bosco Museum and Shillong Peak.
